- Thursday, March 16th: Field Trip to Mt. Hawley Bowl-Students must bring sack lunch.
- Friday, March 17th: Roaring 20's Day-students are encouraged to dress up as a person from the Roaring 20's.

Rohan Patkar: Won the Peoria County Spelling Bee on Friday!! Rohan will compete this Friday in the Regional competition against students from Missouri and Iowa. WOW!
Siri Ugru, Rohan Patkar: Advancing in MathCon competition in Chicago on April 22nd. Out of 49, 685 students who took the test, only 576 advanced to Chicago. Rohan and Siri were in the top 15 of 5th graders in the state!
Sidharth Chunduri: Named on the wait list for MathCon competition in Chicago. A huge honor, as Sidharth scored in the 99th percentile along with Siri and Rohan.
I cannot be prouder as a teacher of these kiddos and their hard work and dedication to learning. I am so lucky to get to teach these amazing scholars!

Curriculum Connection
Math: This week we will be working on a March Madness basketball unit. Students will fill out brackets, and we will spend the week analyzing data and statistics of teams in the tournament. The kiddos are SUPER excited for this unit!
Reading: We will continue working on comparing/contrasting this week, as well as identifying moods and tones of stories.
Writing: We will finish the week with our final opinion writing. Students will be given a rubric, and will be required to write their final piece of the unit.
Social Studies: Chapter 7, Roaring 20's
