Curriculum Connection
Reading
We will be reading From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler for the remainder of the year. We will be reading each day in whole group, so no reading outside of school is necessary unless students need to reread for their assignments.
Writing
We will continue working on our Narratives this week. Students are developing their characters BEFORE writing.
Science
We have begun Chapter 14 on Energy. This unit will correspond with our rocket building, which we will begin next week.
Social Studies
We are learning about World War II as our last unit of the year.
Math
We will be learning about angles and lines this week and next.

A few reminders...
- Please make sure your child comes to school with all necessary items. Our work day often gets interrupted by the office buzzing for a student to come pick up his lunch, instrument, snack, or water bottle. It disturbs the entire class when one student has to leave.
- As the school year comes to an end, if you see any books that have my name inside of them at your home, please send them back to school.
- Even though it is the end of the year, we still have the same rules and expectations about snacks: Small, simple and super in nutrition.
- We are down to our last box of Kleenex. If anyone would be willing to send a box or two in, it would greatly be appreciated!
- We have a LOT of fun things planned this last month of school, but we are still working hard in 5BB! I can hardly believe this year is almost over!
- Historical Fiction projects are due on Friday. No make ups will be allowed for this assignment since it was assigned 6 weeks ago. I have seen some students' work already, and I cannot wait to see their finished projects!
